2022 Corvette Funfest

September 17, 2022
Effingham, IL

At the microphone for the welcoming ceremony is Mid America
Motorworks CEO Mike Yager.

To his right is Michael Jr.

Both are excellent public speakers and they welcomed the crowd there
in attendance.

The weather was perfect for an outdoor event!

And you can trust the Solid Axle Corvette Club to get right in there

and mingle with the event sponsor.

(L to R) Mary Rae Brockhouse, SACC Secretary, Mike Yager, and
Gerri Hollada, SACC member.

Actually for all of us it was like old times.

This is a tiny portion of the crowd at the parking
area.  There were a few solid axles, but not many
in attendance.

And you can see the For Sale sign.  Michael Yager was selling his solid axle.

It would be a nice car in anyone's garage.

And conducting this Tech Session is Ron McQueeney.  Ron was the
Chief of Photography for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

On the screen is Mauri Rose from Chevrolet.  Mauri drove this V-8 '55
on the track every day for two weeks before the 1955 race.

Mauri was the champion in the 1941, 1947, and 1948 races.

And the Central Great Rivers held their annual meeting
there at the event.

(Around the loop starting at the left) Denny Fontana, Jane Fontana, Gerri Hollada, Mary Rae Brockhouse, Mike Hausman, Judy Coughlin, Dennis Coughlin, Dale Lael, and Laura Lael.

They all volunteered to help at the 2023 National Convention.

Well, that's a short wrap-up.  There were lots of other things going on, including awards being presented, prizes, other seminars, you get the idea.

If you haven't been to Funfest you have been missing out.  It is always in September.
