 2026 Convention News

Calling all SACC C-1’s from the East, West, North and South:  “Meet us in St. Louis, Louis meet us at the SACC 2026 Convention.”  It will be 14-18 June to celebrate the 33rd year of SACC, the100th Anniversary of Route 66 and the 250th Birthday of America.

This year’s convention will start immediately following Blooming Gold (June 11th-13th) at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, IL which happens to be 20 miles or 25 minutes from our hotel.  Full details at www.bloomingtongold.com.  Those dates are included in the room discount.

Besides the usual three days for SACC meetings, technical session(s), and a road tour (to Springfield IL on Route 66 and return ride along the river), SACC has added an extra day for site seeing.  Of course, the Gateway Arch will be included, along with a boat ride on the Mississippi River, museums, etc.  A featured tour will be the former Ulysses S. Grant farm, now home to some of the famous Busch Clydesdale horses.  It includes a behind-the-scenes guided tour of the stables.  INSERT PIC OF GATEWAY ARCH

The Soccer World Cup is in Kansas City, MO the same week, which is only 4 hours away and the hotels are expecting to fill up. Since our hotel is actually on Route 66, it is very popular, especially due to the 100th anniversary, so please make your reservations early.

There will not be a SACC convention registration fee this year. However, you will need to register so we have a head count for the limits of some venues.  The bus we have hired for the Monday site seeing is limited to 54 passengers, so those registering late will have to provide their own transportation to and parking at local venues.  SACC will create a waiting list for the bus seats.  Only the first 60 to sign up for the Thursday banquet will be guaranteed a seat. Again, there will be a wait list. However, there will be plenty of room for the membership meeting and awards.

We will be staying in an original Route 66 Motel which has been remodeled. It is located on Route 66 and has ample parking for RVs and trailers.    Room rates are $199 for Friday and Saturday nights and $179 for Sun-Thursday. If you want a room with a tub, ask, because most of the rooms only have showers.

The schedule and application are found in the quarterly club magazine.
